Now for my critique. I don’t ever think it is O.K. to wear your pants 2″ to 3″ above the top of your shoes, much less to do this and cuff them as well. Never. As all of my loyal readers know by now, we are going for a sleek manly GQ appearance. Wearing any kind of pants in this manner is not the manly appearance that Mens Clothes Blog is trying to give advice on. That being said, I know that I might have lost a few subscribers by saying this, but in my opinion this is an atrocity. This site is not for everyone, but for a target audience that when viewing these types of videos can look at them and think….. This is not the look that we have been talking about. What I need to do is color coordinate and put the right materials and outfits together to create a sharp look that I desire for me.

This video is pretty straight forward. If you are wearing black pants and black shoes, you should not wear blue or tan socks. However, if you are wearing grey pants and black shoes, you could wear black, or grey socks. Blue socks would go with tan or white pants. Let’s see…. what else….. Dark brown socks should be worn with dark brown pants.

We smile a devious smirk when we say that, because black is the new ever-expanding frontier. White is so plain and gets dirty far too easily. As the modern day Horace Greeley or John Soule we would say “Go black, young man!”. What could we possibly mean by that? Well, first we must define what we mean by black. Is black a color or is it a race of people? Is black the combination of all colors, or the absence of color, or the absence of light, or the opposite of white, or the color of many formal “black” tie events. Black is all those things and more. What the heck is black? Not so easy to answer is it? That is why this subject is so intriguing. Classic black is always part of a decent man’s attire. A man can be sharply dressed and as part of the outfit he chooses to represent himself, he includes some well-polished black shoes to go with his black suit. What a nice combination, black on black. Superb! Black is just as available for formal events as it is acceptable in church or as street wear. There is the classic “black” tie event that is most formal. When you go to a funeral, you can wear black and be sure to fit right in. And if you want to go to a Goth rock concert, then black is the only color choice allowed. If you want to be a tough guy, then wear a black leather motorcycle jacket, and if you want to rave until the sun comes up, put on some black eyeliner so you look like you haven’t slept for days.There is virtually no place or event where the color (or absence of color) black is not welcome. You can be a priest, a punk rocker, a preppie escorting a lady at the formal debutante ball, in church or in a coal mine – if you are dressed in black you will fit right in. Kudos to the darker side. Now go out and get some black.
